James "Jimmy" Hines - Obituary

ames J. “Jimmy” Hines, 82, died on October 22, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He was born in Baltimore, MD on December 19, 1940 to the late Paul and Patrina Hines, graduated from Montgomery Blair High School and completed his Sheet Metal Apprenticeship in 1963. He worked for many years in the sheet metal industry before retiring as a foreman in 1995. He was a 50 year member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 100. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, boating, crabbing and water skiing on the South River. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia “Pam” Hines; his beloved cat, Frankey; his daughter, Paula Hines Kennell of Orlando, FL, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, several cousins and his wife’s siblings and their spouses, whom he considered to be his family as well. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Dawson. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Friday, October 27 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jimmy’s name, may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403.
